BLIND CONTOUR DRAWING: Drawing Exercise
This drawing exercise is a great way to break out of frustrations when it comes to drawing. To complete this exercise, focus all of your attention on the object you are drawing by not looking at your drawing at all. Imagine your eyes are following along all of the details of what you are trying to draw. Imitate your eyes with your hand by creating a continuous line as you follow around your subject. These type of exercises can last anywhere from 1-5 minutes & the objective isn't to make a pretty image. It's to loosen up & feel comfortable in your drawing.
Practice this at the beginning of a plein air session or in your sketchbook when planning other art pieces. I find it a really great way to relax in my drawing & get into the process - enjoy!
Thanks for reading my little experiment log here. I'm looking forward to what each season will bring. Every one will be a little different, so make sure to subscribe to this Sketchbook Log Newsletter on my website & follow @drawingfromnature on Instagram or Facebook for the latest art happenings.
Go forth & do good,
